Dina, can you tell us about your background and how you got started in the yachting industry?

I started in the yachting industry back in 2016, working in the booking department for Croatia Yachting. After a few years, I moved to a different company and worked as a Booking Manager for Adria Yachting. Eventually, I became part of the amazing team at Adriatic Sailing. After gaining all this experience, I realized that the best possible way to build myself up even more was to create my own story.

I had seen so many clients receiving misleading or insufficient information, leading to unsatisfactory experiences. I believe there is no better way to ensure the best possible experience for clients than by connecting with local agents who understand the nuances of the area and can provide accurate, detailed information.

Balancing my professional life and my private life as a wife and mother is also a crucial part of my journey.

What inspired you to start Allure Navis?

The idea for Allure Navis came from my deep-rooted love for the sea and my unwavering passion for creating unforgettable experiences. Throughout my career in the yachting industry, I've always cherished every aspect of my job—from meeting clients to attending boat shows and being immersed in the maritime world. I saw an opportunity to bring something truly special to the market—a blend of luxury and a personal touch that would make every charter an extraordinary journey.

Having worked extensively in this industry, I understand our country's strengths and intricacies. I know the best companies, the finest yachts, and the ins and outs of delivering exceptional service.

This deep knowledge and experience fueled my belief that Allure Navis could offer a level of excellence and innovation that surpasses expectations in the luxury yacht charter industry.

Why did you decide to co-found Allure Navis with Martina?

Martina and I actually met during our time at Croatia Yachting, where we both worked together in the booking department. Over time, we developed a strong friendship based on mutual respect and a shared passion for the industry. In any partnership, there's often one person who brings a creative spark to the table, and in our case, that's Martina. She has an innate ability to envision unique experiences and innovate within the yacht charter space. What sets Martina apart is her talent for bringing all my ideas to life with a touch of creativity and finesse.

On the other hand, my strengths lie in operational efficiency and client relations, ensuring that our ideas translate seamlessly into exceptional service delivery. Together, we complement each other perfectly, forming a balanced and dynamic team at the helm of Allure Navis.

What challenges did you face as a female entrepreneur in this industry, and how did you overcome them?

Being a woman in the yachting industry came with its own set of challenges. There were times when I felt the need to prove my credibility and expertise more rigorously. This meant demonstrating my knowledge, skills, and competence consistently to ensure I was taken seriously.

One of the key challenges was establishing a strong network and gaining recognition in an industry where most decision-makers were already established. I had to work diligently to make my mark and earn the respect of my peers and clients. Persistence and confidence were essential in overcoming these challenges. I remained focused on my goals and didn't let obstacles deter me. I continuously educated myself, stayed updated with industry trends, and honed my skills to ensure I was always at the top of my game.

A strong support network played a crucial role in my journey. I was fortunate to have mentors and colleagues who believed in my abilities and offered guidance and encouragement. Their support helped me navigate the challenges and stay motivated. Additionally, I embraced the unique perspective and strengths that I, as a woman, brought to the table. My attention to detail, empathy, and customer-centric approach helped build strong relationships with clients and deliver exceptional service.

These qualities became my distinct advantage in creating memorable experiences for our clients. By staying resilient, continuously proving my worth, and leveraging my unique strengths, I was able to overcome the challenges and establish Allure Navis as a respected name in the luxury yacht charter industry.

Did you face challenges in proving your credibility and gaining the trust of your first clients when you started Allure Navis?

Absolutely, like any new venture, establishing credibility and gaining the trust of our first clients was a significant challenge. In the early days of Allure Navis, potential clients were understandably cautious about entrusting their luxury travel plans to a new company. They often asked for reviews and testimonials, which can be difficult when you're just starting out and haven't yet built a substantial client base. T

o overcome this, we focused on providing exceptional service from the very start. We made sure every interaction with potential clients was professional, informative, and personalized. We leveraged our extensive industry experience and deep knowledge of the local yachting landscape to assure clients that they were in capable hands. We also prioritized transparency and communication. By being open about our processes, sharing detailed itineraries, and providing thorough information about our yachts and services, we built a foundation of trust. To address the need for reviews, we encouraged our very first clients to share their experiences and provide feedback. Their positive testimonials quickly became invaluable, as word-of-mouth recommendations helped us establish our reputation.

Additionally, we went the extra mile to create memorable experiences for our early clients, ensuring that every charter was flawless and exceeded their expectations. This not only built trust but also encouraged repeat business and referrals.

The charter industry is becoming more inclusive and diverse, which is incredibly exciting. I envision a future where personalized and sustainable luxury becomes the standard. Clients are increasingly looking for unique, tailored experiences that align with their values, such as eco-friendly practices and community engagement.

Allure Navis aims to be at the forefront of this evolution by continually innovating and setting high standards for both service and sustainability. We want to lead the way in offering exceptional, personalized yacht charters that not only delight our clients but also respect and preserve the beautiful destinations we visit.

What are your top three favorite destinations that Allure Navis offers, and why?

Without a doubt, my top three favorite destinations are Croatia, Croatia, and again, Croatia! This country holds a special place in my heart, not just because it's my homeland, but because of its unparalleled beauty and diversity. The Adriatic coastline is dotted with over a thousand islands, each offering its own unique charm and experiences. The crystal-clear waters, historic towns, and vibrant culture make Croatia an ideal destination for yacht charters.

Whether you're exploring the ancient walls of Dubrovnik, enjoying the nightlife in Hvar, or relaxing in the tranquil bays of the Kornati islands, Croatia never ceases to amaze. It's a destination that combines natural beauty, rich history, and modern luxury, making every visit a truly unforgettable experience.

Ensuring a unique and memorable experience for our clients is our top priority at Allure Navis. We start by listening carefully to our clients' desires and preferences, understanding their vision for their perfect yacht charter. From there, we tailor every detail to meet their specific needs, whether it's crafting bespoke itineraries, arranging personalized services onboard, or selecting the perfect yacht.

What sets us apart is our deep local knowledge and experience. We don't just list boats on a website; we have a comprehensive understanding of the charter companies we work with and how each one operates. This insider knowledge allows us to match our clients with the best possible options, ensuring a seamless and exceptional experience. Our local expertise is something not everyone can offer.

We know the Adriatic waters like the back of our hand, and we have built strong relationships with trusted partners throughout the region. This means we can provide our clients with insider tips, hidden gems, and exclusive access that elevate their charter experience.

Can you describe a particularly challenging or rewarding project you’ve worked on with Allure Navis?

One of the most rewarding projects I’ve worked onwith my last company I worked for, was organizing a wedding ceremony on a yacht. This project was particularly challenging due to the sheer number of details that had to be meticulously planned and executed.

We had to coordinate everything from the décor and floral arrangements to the catering and entertainment, ensuring that every element reflected the couple’s vision for their special day. The logistics were complex, involving the seamless integration of multiple vendors and managing the setup on a moving vessel. We had to ensure that the yacht was perfectly decorated, the dining experience was flawless, and that every guest was comfortably accommodated. Additionally, the timing had to be impeccable, as we planned the ceremony to coincide with the sunset, creating a breathtaking backdrop for the couple’s vows.

Despite the challenges, the project was incredibly rewarding. Seeing the joy and emotion on the couple’s faces, and hearing the heartfelt compliments from their guests, made all the hard work worthwhile. This experience underscored the importance of attention to detail, creativity, and teamwork, and it was a wonderful reminder of why we do what we do at Allure Navis.

How do you balance work and personal life while running a successful business?

Balancing work and personal life while running a successful business is certainly challenging, but it’s about setting clear boundaries and prioritizing what’s important. I make it a point to carve out time for myself and my family, ensuring that I am present and engaged during those moments. Additionally, I rely heavily on my great team, who support me and share the vision of Allure Navis.

By delegating effectively and trusting my team, I can maintain a healthy balance and ensure both my professional and personal life are fulfilling.

What advice would you give to other women looking to enter the charter industry?

My advice to other women looking to enter the charter industry is to believe in yourself and your vision. Don’t be afraid to take risks and always stay true to your values. The industry needs more women leaders, and your unique perspective can make a significant impact.
